Burlington Today Article

An upcoming rally by Millcroft Against Bad Development (MAD) to ask Premier Doug Ford to step in and prevent the development of part of the Millcroft Golf Club has had its location changed and will now be held at the Millcroft Mill on Saturday, April 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The rally was originally going to be held on the golf course at the seventh hole, but was moved to increase awareness as the mill is a major entrance to the Millcroft community.

The golf course was approved for development by the Ontario Land Tribunal in June 2024 after the City of Burlington rejected an application to build 90 single-family units and 130 apartment units. Four holes of the golf course would be removed as part of the development.

MAD has yet to hear back from Ford about whether or not he will be attending the rally, but Ward 6 councillor Angelo Bentivegna will be there to speak on behalf of the city.

Around 120 members of MAD have confirmed their attendance so far. Residents planning to attend the gathering are asked to RSVP ahead of time by contacting admin@millcroftagainstdevelopment.ca and to create their own signs with friendly, professional messages.
