Phase 1 of destruction?

The proposed development within our Millcroft neighbourhood will require a change to the current zoning of Parks and Open Space which currently allows for recreational use including a golf course. If the developers are successful, the construction will upset our neighbourhood for many years, as we believe that this is only the first phase until the entire golf course is covered with homes and roads. Their initial proposal seems to remove 400+ trees that are over 30 years old, realignment of the Appleby Creek and reconfiguration of the pond that is home to over 50 bird and animal species as a start. Not to mention earth movers, construction mud and dust, traffic congestion, increased noise both during construction and after the first phase of homes are built But most importantly, we want to preserve our unique neighbourhood which contributes to Burlington’s rank of #1 city to live in.
