MAD Summer Kick Off!

We thank our MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos for her support in saving in preserving Millcroft Green Space.

Our invitation to Effie was a recognition of her ongoing efforts to preserve open spaces in Halton and her specific interest in our Millcroft campaign to stop the Millcroft Greens(MG)
project. Should the City of Burlington reject the development application, we anticipate that Millcroft Greens will appeal the decision to the Provincial Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). Last summer we
decided to gain Provincial recognition of MAD’s objection to development in our open spaces. Effie encouraged us to gather “wet” petitions that she would present to Parliament. Since then,
on five separate occasions, she has stood and spoke of our cause and presented over 3400 of our petitions to parliament. Effie spoke to our group giving an overview of her activities in Halton, highlighting a direct impact on the addition of 5 new schools in the region and her involvement in protecting green spaces. She also fielded several general questions. We are grateful for her continuing support.
