THIS IS NOT MAD

There seems to be some confusion around a recent flier that was delivered to Millcroft residents from a recently formed organization called Millcroft Greenspace Alliance. THIS IS NOT MAD.

Millcroft Greenspace Alliance (MGA)  is a not-for-profit corporation advocating for livable, sustainable communities and responsible development. Their primary focus is preservation of an early, state of the art example of Green Infrastructure known as the Millcroft Golf Course which is now under threat of an infill development proposal.

Millcroft Against Bad Development, commonly known as M.A.D., represents over 5,500 members of the Millcroft Community and Burlington. Our mission is to maintain the existing Millcroft Golf Course lands as Major Parks and Open Space.

We are focused on organizing the community voice and resources in opposition to Millcroft Green’s application to infill the golf course with residential housing. The Millcroft golf course, which is completely embedded inside our community, was designed to provide three essential needs: to provide a home to our abundant Wildlife, to act as a Flood Management System for storm water events, and to provide Environmental Open Space for the health of both our 10,000 Millcroft residents and neighbouring communities.

MAD is well organized, passionate, and has aligned with various other organizations related to environmental protection and smart development. M.A.D. is currently opposing all efforts to introduce residential development on the existing Millcroft golf course.

We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Small Change Fund (SCF), an award-winning crowdfunding platform that will allow donors to obtain a charitable tax receipt. Community financial support made it possible to accomplish our success to date, but we will need to raise significant additional funds to finish the journey with the OLT. We continue to build our team of experts, namely Weir Foulds, a premiere Ontario law firm, and Allan Ramsay Planning.
