Former Burlington Mayor Support

City garners support from former Mayor Rick Goldring.

As a former Mayor and life-long Burlington resident, I oppose the development of the Millcroft Golf Course lands and support the current Mayor and Council in their position and actions.

This golf course has served a dual role for over four decades—not only as a community amenity but also as essential green infrastructure that helps manage stormwater and protects against flooding. With increasingly unpredictable weather patterns, removing this buffer is risky and short-sighted.

We do need more housing, but we must balance growth with sustainability and common sense. Replacing established green space with housing in a flood-sensitive area is not the answer.

I stand with the residents of Millcroft and across Burlington who want to see this valued space preserved for future generations.
